Objective To explore the application effect of hydrogen peroxide combined with sodium bicarbonate soution on neonates undergoing oral intubation. Methods A total of 60 cases of neonates who received endotracheal intubation and ventilator ventilation in our hospital from January to December,2018 were selected as the study subjects.According to the random number table method, all newborns were divided into control group and observation group with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given oral care with sodium bicarbonate solution, while the observation group was given oral care with hydrogen peroxide and sodium bicarbonate. The infection rates of ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP)and oral infection, mechanical ventilation and hospitalization time were compared. Results The incidences of VAP and oral infection in observation group were 6.67%and 0.00%,lower than those in control group(33.33%and 26.67%),the differences were significant(P<0.05).The mechanical ventilation and hospitalization time in observation group were(8.33±2.04)h and(20.08±9.64)d,shorter than those in control group[13.81±2.81]h and([32.84±14.02])d,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Hydrogen Peroxide combined with Sodium Bicarbonate can reduce the risk of bacterial infection in neonates undergoing oral intubation, prevent oral infection and VAP,and shorten hospital stay.
