摘要
人名,既是个体的标记符号,也因其社会属性具有群体的特征。论文以4478名17岁至19岁的东南亚华裔留学生人名用字为考察对象,探讨其使用价值与用字特征,管窥东南亚华侨华人对母族审美观念、价值取向的传承与认同。研究发现,东南亚华裔学生中文名字的文化象征意义高于其实际使用价值;人名用字具有较高的趋同性和浓厚的性别意识。与中国同龄人名字相比,更注重对福禄富贵、道德修养的追求,且具有时代差异性。
The name of a person has not only the symbolic implications of the individual,but also the characteristics of his group due to its social property.This paper takes the names of 4,478 overseas Chinese students(17 to 19 years old)in Southeast Asia as the research object,and explores their inheritance of and identification with their matriarchal aesthetics and value orientation.The study concludes that the names of these students have a higher cultural significance than their practical value with a fairly high homogeneity and a strong gender consciousness.Compared with those of the Chinese peers,the names of these students attach more importance to good morality as well as the pursuit of wealth with obvious historical differences.
