摘要
提出了一款工作在低电压(0.5~0.7 V)下的LC数控振荡器(Digitally controlled oscillator,DCO),采用电流复用结构的MOS对管为DCO起振提供能量,降低了DCO消耗的电流。提出一种多级电容衰减技术,在不增加功耗的前提下,使电容衰减系数达到0.002,并将单位可变电容值从4 fF减小到8 aF;在2.4 GHz频率下,使频率分辨率达到8 kHz。提出的LC-DCO在130 nm CMOS工艺下进行了流片验证,测试结果表明,在0.6 V电源电压下,功耗为6.6 mW,1 MHz频偏处的相位噪声从-126.7 dBc/Hz到-125.95 dBc/Hz,实现了195 dB的FoM。
An LC digitally controlled oscillator(DCO)at low supplies(0.5~0.7 V)was presented in this paper.MOS transistors with a current-reuse structure were used to provide energy of oscillation and further lower the consumed current of the DCO.A multi-stage capacitance shrinking technique was proposed.The shrinking factor of capacitance is 0.002 and the unit variable capacitance of LC tank is reduced from 4 fF to 8 aF without increasing any power.The resolution is thereby up to 8 kHz at the frequency of 2.4 GHz.The proposed LC-DCO is fabricated in a 130 nm CMOS technology.The measurement results show that the DCO core consumes 6.6 mW at a 0.6 V supply.Phase noise at a 0.6 V supply are from-126.7 dBc/Hz@1 MHz to-125.95 dBc/Hz@1 MHz.The FoM of 195 dB is achieved.
