摘要
本研究利用“亚洲民主动态调查”香港地区2016年的调查数据,探究香港青年人的政治信任水平及其影响因素。研究结果显示,在控制了人口学变量后,香港青年对中央政府、特区政府和法院的信任程度显著低于年长世代,但两个世代对立法会的信任不存在显著差别。香港青年的相对剥夺感(尤其是对向上流动机会的感知)显著高于30岁以上人士。在控制了相对剥夺感相关变量后,青年与年长世代对特区政府和法院的信任不再存在显著差异,二者对中央政府的信任虽仍然有显著差异但程度有所降低。因此,相对剥夺感在年龄群组和对特区政府、对法院的信任之间起到中介作用,即年轻人对特区政府和法院的信任程度低于年长世代主要是因为其相对剥夺感较高。但相对剥夺感并未完全解释不同世代对中央政府信任的差别。日后研究需纳入更多因素(如政治观念、身份认同、社交媒体使用等),以进一步识别造成香港青年政治信任水平低下的原因。
Using data from Asian Barometer Survey in Hong Kong in 2016,this paper examines the level and correlates of political trust among youth in Hong Kong.Research results show that with controlled socio-demographic variables,Hong Kong youth showed lower levels of trust in the central government,in the HKSAR government and in the court than those over the age of 30,but no significant difference was noted in the trust in the Legislative Council between the two age groups.Also,Hong Kong youth reported higher levels of relative deprivation(especially the perception of upward mobility opportunities)than older respondents.After adjusting for relative deprivation variables,the differences in the trust in the HKSAR government and the court between young and older respondents became insignificant,and their difference in the trust in the central government remained but was narrowed.Therefore,relative deprivation mediated the relationship between age groups and trust in the HKSAR government and the court:the higher level of relative deprivation reported by the youth explained their lower level of trust in the HKSAR government and the court,but it offered only a partial explanation for the difference of trust in the central government between the two age groups.Future research should include more factors,such as political values,identity and social media use,to account for the lower level of political trust among young people in Hong Kong.
