摘要
艺术独立理论是西方现代美学的发展主线之一。针对黑格尔美学体系中艺术将由哲学所取代的最终结论,克罗齐从分析黑格尔“对立面的综合”的逻辑理论入手,指出黑格尔的逻辑理论适用于处理性质相反的事物,但不能用来处理性质相异的事物;克罗齐解决问题的办法是用新的逻辑理论,即“度的理论”去处理性质相异的事物,因而从理论上确立了艺术的独立地位。洛特曼将生物学理论引入美学研究,把艺术当作独立的生命存在;这种生命体现为它能以极小的篇幅向人类提供源源不断的信息,所以“美就是信息”。艺术独立问题由此得到彻底解决,西方现代美学中的这一发展主线从此告一段落。
The Independence of Art is one of the most important theories in Modern Western Aesthetics. Croce disagrees with Hegel's conclusion that art will be replaced by philosophy. Croce thinks that dialectics can just deal with opposite things but can't deal with different things unless the Theory of Level is used. Then with the Theory of Level the Independence of Art was established theoretically by Croce. Lotman introduces the theories in biology to aesthetics and regards art as a living being that exists independently. This living being can provide humanity with endless information in very limited space, so Beauty is Information. In the history of Western aesthetics the problem of the Independence of Art was not solved until Lotman, thus indicating the end of the development of one of the most important theories in the Modern Western Aesthetics.
