Evaluation of the Road Network Operation Efficiency with Uncertainty in Traffic Demands

摘要 为考察需求不确定性对路网运行效率的影响,假定出行者在Gamma分布的需求下依据旅行时间均值选择路径,建立了与网络均衡条件等价的交通分配变分不等式模型。以平均每条路段上单位旅行时间能够服务的车公里数作为度量指标给出了考虑需求随机性的路网运行效率评价方法,利用测试网络分析了需求波动程度、需求总量以及出行者感知误差参数对运行效率的影响。数值分析结果表明:(1)在相同的需求均值下,需求波动程度增加会降低路网的运行效率;(2)随需求总量的增加,路网运行效率呈现先上升后下降的变化趋势,合理的需求总量能确保网络维持在较高的运行效率;(3)针对拥挤交通网络改善出行者的感知误差能适度提升路网的运行效率。研究成果丰富了随机路网运行效率评价方法,有助于提高实际路网运行效率评价结果的准确性。 In order to investigate the impact of uncertainty in traffic demand on the road network operation efficiency, a network equilibrium flow variational inequality model based on the mean route travel time was established under the assumption that the traffic demand follows a Gamma distribution. In this paper, road network operation efficiency is defined as the average number of vehicle kilometers traveled on per link that can be served by unit travel time. With the above considerations, a road network operation efficiency evaluation method with stochastic demand is constructed. Some numerical studies on a test network are used to analyze the impact of the fluctuation degree of the traffic demand, the total demand quantity and the travelers’ perception error on operation efficiency. The results show that:(1) for the same mean traffic demand, the increase in demand fluctuation degree will reduce the operation efficiency of the road network;(2) with the increase in total demand quantity, the operation efficiency of the road network shows a trend of rising first and then declining, and a reasonable total demand quantity can ensure that the network maintains a higher level of operation efficiency;(3) the improvement of travelers’ perception error for a more congested network can moderately enhance the road network operation efficiency. This research riches the stochastic road network operation efficiency evaluation method and helps to improve the accuracy of the operation efficiency evaluation results for real road network.
