摘要
近代西方人来桂,不论是出于何种原因,航行西江是他们进入广西的一个重要途径。他们在西江上的游历包括:岸上观赏、水上见闻、船上映像等方面,从中可窥见不一样的近代广西社会面貌,并构成一个与陆上人家不同却又有所相似的社会缩影。他们游历的所见所闻构成了近代西方人一定的广西观甚至中国观。
For whatever reasons,navigating the Xijiang Riverwas an important way forwesterners to enter Guangxi in Modern Times.Through the collation of western writings,this paper combs out of the records of westerners traveling to the Xijiang River,and thencomments and analyzes them.From the perspective of the westerners,it is concluded that their travels on the Xijiang River include three aspects:watching on shore,seeing and hearing on water,and image on ship.From this,we can find out the different social features of Guangxi in modern times,and a social microcosm which is different from the onshore family but similar to other travelers.What they saw and heard about their travels also formed part of westerners view of Guangxi and even China in Modern Times.
