摘要
The hat is not only a kind of essential need for human life,but also a significant part of dress culture.It carries profound meaning for both China and Britain.This paper will start with the history and development of British and Chinese hats.The author will elaborate on the usage of hats in the two peoples'daily lives and langnages,and the role hats play in showing etiquette,social status,national characteristies and customs of the British and Chinese.Based on the actual situation,through the analysis and comparison of the hat-culture between Britain and China,the author will provide some findings on the topic which will give people enlightenments about the inheritance of social culture.
