摘要
J.M.库切的第三部小说《等待野蛮人》因其独特的寓言式叙事手法和深刻的伦理思想内涵而备受赞誉。小说围绕着老行政官的遭遇,聚焦其内心世界,讲述他在面对苦难、身陷苦难时的伦理抉择与自我救赎。整个叙事通过大量独白和自我拷问,丝丝入扣地展现生命个体如何在苦难中从旁观者蜕变成播撒良知之种的殉道者。作者巧妙地用虚拟的帝国与历史、虚化的人物与情节,指涉人类所普遍面临的道德与精神困境,探索救赎之道,表达出对人性和道德回归的诉求与期待。
Waiting for the Barbarians,the 3 rd fiction of J.M.Coetzee,wins worldwide award for its unique allegorical technique of narrating and profound ethical thoughts.The book,focusing on the experience of the old executive officer and his inner world,tells about his ethical choice and self-salvation while faced with and stuck in the abyss of bitterness.Through a great number of monologues and self-interrogations,the whole narration appropriately reveals how an individual transformed himself from a bystander into a martyr of morality in the abyss of bitterness.By Skillfully employing a virtual empire and history,virtual characters and plots,ambiguous time and space,the writer refers to the universal moral and spiritual predicament of human,aims to explore a way of salvation and expresses his appeal and expectation for the regain of human nature and morality.
