Finding books for readers, finding readers for books is a well-known phrase in Chinese library circles. It originated from the practice of library services. It appeared and became popular as a slogan in 1950s and 1960s, then experienced different depths of theoretical discussion since 1980s. Finally, it has been recognized as the professional spirit and service tenet of library community. In the continuous deepening understanding, finding books for readers, finding readers for books has evolved into an increasingly meaningful discourse, which reflects the relationship between the practice and the perception of library services and establishes a rationality and theoretical basis for library services.
