摘要
曾经在大卫·波尔(David Ball)所著的《了如指掌:阅读戏剧的技术手册》(Backwards and Forwards: A Technical Manualfor Reading Plays ,1983)中读到,戏剧都是由冲突所构成的。在读一个剧本的时候,首先就是要对其中的冲突、解决冲突和新的冲突保持敏感。我承认在第一次看到《摇滚学校》(School of Rock )的剧情时,我对这个风格的戏剧带有一定的偏见。
Before the School of Rock was staged in China, I was worried the audience might be offended by the treatment of "education" in the musical. But after seeing this production, I understood how rock music made them open their ears and hearts.
