摘要
上一期(2019年第1期),我刊刊出的《“旅游学纵横:学界五人对话录(续)”之引子篇:这五年》一文引起了学界的强烈关注。从本期开始,我刊将开始刊载五位教授围绕中国旅游学科相关专题展开的对话。本期刊出的是本次对话中关于中国旅游教育相关话题的对话。五位教授从中国旅游教育的规模出发,围绕中国旅游教育的教学、教材、学生培养质量、旅游教育与旅游研究的关系等问题展开了深入对话。
This session of the dialogue focusses on tourism education. As the speakers are all long-term practitioners, or have been in varying roles and administrative capacities of tourism higher education, the discussion is thus built on individual, institutional and collective experience of forty years of tourism higher education. Issues brought up or discussed in this session include:(1) innovation in tourism education;(2) the ever- increasing accumulation of tourism knowledge through research community consensus on core knowledge and core subjects of its higher education programs;(3) issues in the tourism of education through teaching and learning, such as textbooks, delivery of subjects to meet program objectives, quality assurance mechanisms, competence and employability of tourism graduates, and roles of professors or teachers in tourism higher education;(4) the (im-)balance between teaching and research, or the role of teaching in research-intensive universities, including, for example, the evaluation or assessment of teaching (as well as research) in resource allocation and academic promotion. Notably, many of the issues covered in the discussion are generic, of commonality, and hence applicable to tourism education in different institutions or under different disciplinary/administrative jurisdictions. The reviews and reflections could be of implications to the practice and development of tourism higher education in the future.
