摘要
《呼兰河传》是中国现当代女作家萧红的代表作,展现了东北边陲小镇呼兰河的风土人情,其中含有大量的民俗描写,包括物质民俗、社会民俗和精神民俗。通过系统探究葛浩文译本在三种民俗翻译中的"创造性叛逆",探究其中制约翻译的深层文化因素,发现葛浩文凭借出色的双语能力,灵活运用归化异化相结合的翻译策略,在中西方文化之间寻求一个平衡点,在保证忠实原文的前提下,求同存异,出色地向西方译介了中国文化。
Tales of Hulan River is the representative work of Xiao Hong,a contemporary Chinese writer.It reflects the life along Hulan River in the Northeast of China.It contains numerous folklore descriptions,which can be classified into material,social and spiritual folklore.This paper systematically investigates the"creative treason"in the folklore translation and probe into the cultural elements that affect the translation.It was found that Howard Goldblatt flexibly exerts translation strategies combining domestication and foreignization with his outstanding bilingual competence.On the basis of loyalty,he tries to seek a balance between Chinese and Western culture and seeks common points while reserving difference.He has done a good job in promoting the Chinese culture to the western world.
