摘要
鲁迅曾在致友人的信函里对美国作家赛珍珠做过三次简短的评价,由于他在中国近现代文学史上的地位,他的评价在中国赛珍珠研究史上产生过重要的影响。新时期以后,学术界对鲁迅的评价进行了新的讨论,也有不少争议。回顾这些讨论和争议,厘清其中的主要观点,将有助于我们正确认识和准确把握鲁迅对赛珍珠的评价,也有益于今后中国赛珍珠研究的健康展开。
In the letters to his friends,Lu Xun mentioned Pearl S.Buck three times,in which he gave his brief assessments about her masterpiece The Good Earth and her translation of Shui Hu Chuan into All Men Are Brothers.Owing to his importance in the history of modern Chinese literature,what he said informally has exerted a far-reaching influence.In the New Phase of Chinese history,Lu Xun's remarks were newly discussed and disputed.So a review of these discussions and disputes and summarization of the main points will promote future Pearl S.Buck studies as well as help us with a better understanding of Lu Xun and his psyche.
