摘要
在中国性别就业差距逐年扩大的背景下,本文利用中国微观企业数据研究了外资进入、性别就业差距和企业退出的关系。研究发现外资进入通过降低就业的性别差距,进而降低了企业的退出概率。这种效应对不同外资进入程度和内资企业同样稳健,且不受抽样偏倚的影响。此外,产生这种效应的原因是外资进入加剧了市场竞争,且外资进入的技术溢出引致了相关地区和行业的技术进步。本文对中国引资政策制定、实现劳动力市场平等及提高企业竞争力均具有重要参考价值。
In view of China s growing gender employment gap,this paper examines the relationship between foreign entry,gender employment gap and firms exit through the use of multiple firm-level microeconomic databases.The results show that foreign entry reduce the gender gap in employment,thus reducing the likelihood of firms exit.The result is robust and remains unaltered by considering sample bias,for different foreign capital entry-level measurements,as well as for domestic firms.Moreover,we demonstrate that the effects of market competition and technological spillover are the underlying forces that lead to this result.This paper provides a significant reference value in formulating policies to attract foreign direct investment to China and improving labour market equality and firm competitiveness.
