摘要
本文采取基于在线语料库的方法,从语域语体、使用频率的历时变化、搭配词、类联接和语义韵等多个维度对作副词用的"way"的搭配行为进行考察。研究结果显示,副词"way"主要用于非学术语域,体现出鲜明的口语化特征; 20世纪90年代以来,"way"用作副词的频次稳步攀升,展现出较强的活力;"way"作副词时,类联接主要有WAY TOO X(1)(约占49%)、WAY X-comparative(约占28%)、WAY ADV-particle(2)(约占19%)、WAY X(约占4%);就语义韵而言,WAY TOO X和WAY X表现消极语义韵,WAY X-comparative展现积极语义韵,而WAY ADV-particle则显现错综复杂的语义韵。
This paper adopted an online-corpora-based approach and investigated the usage of the word“way”as an adverb from the perspectives of genre and formality,diachronic variations of frequencies,collocates,colligations and semantic prosody.The study revealed that the adverb“way”is mainly used in non-academic genres,therefore possessing colloquial features and that its frequencies have been on the increase since 1990s,indicating a rising popularity.The study also concluded that there are four major colligations for the adverb“way”,namely,WAY TOO X(representing 49%),WAY X-comparative(28%),WAY ADV-particle(19%),WAYX(4%).In terms of semantic prosody,WAY TOO X and WAY X are negative,while WAY X-comparative positive and WAY ADV-particle neutral.
