摘要
Since the seismic activity of the Chinese mainland is bound up with the global, an investigation of the latter is prerequisite for analysis of the future seismic trend of the continent. It is concluded, from the analysis of the global seismic trend and recent seismic activities in and around the continent of China, that the Fifth High Seismic Activity Period of China is getting over. However, it does not mean the level of seismic hazard will come down. Instead, the task of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction will remain tough.
