Objective To analyze the correlation between arterial pulse wave velocity and high-sensitivity C reactive protein in patients with hypertension. Methods The data of 120 hypertensive patients were collected and divided into three groups:primary hypertension, hypertension with abnormal glucose tolerance and hypertension combined with diabetes. The correlation between the arterial pulse wave velocity and the hypersensitivity C reaction protein was compared between the three groups. Results The arterial pulse wave conduction velocity of the patients with hypertension and diabetes was higher than that of the other two groups, and the hypersensitive C reaction protein in the patients with hypertension and diabetes was higher than that of the primary hypertension group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),but it was not statistically significant compared with those in patients with hypertension and impaired glucose tolerance(P>0.05). There was a positive correlation between arterial pulse wave velocity and age, high sensitivity C-reactive protein, and an independent correlation between age, high sensitivity C-reactive protein and arterial pulse wave velocity. Conclusion Hypersensitive C reactive protein is an independent risk factor for arterial pulse wave conduction in hypertensive patients.
