摘要
本文较系统地介绍了我国现行的３种公共英语等级考试体系：大学英语四、六级考试，高等学校英语应用能力考试和全国公共英语等级考试。文章对这３种等级考试体系的设置背景、目的以及考试的性质和功能等进行了比较。
This article has systematically commentated on the three current Public English Test Systems in China; or College English Test - Band4,6(CET), Practical English Test for Colleges (PET) and Public English Test System(PETS). The article has also made a comparison among their establishing background and goal, features and functions.
