从筹运饷银、购运军火、赈灾西北等及方面论述了商人胡光墉在左宗棠平定动乱,收复新疆,巩固西北塞防的“西征”中的历史作用。
This paper expatiates on the historical effect of Hu Guangyong in the Western Expedition led by Zuo Zongtang to put down riots and reoccupy western frontier and to consolidate northwestern border from the aspects of raising and transporting the ration money, purchasing and transporting munitions, and relieving the people in poverty-stricken areas in the Northwest.
