Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect and safety of dexmedetomidine in non-invasive mechanical ventilation in patients with ICU respiratory failure. Methods From January 2016 to January 2018 Patients of 80 case hospitalized with ICU in the hospital for respiratory failure and non-invasive ventilator were convenient selected and enrolled. The patients in the observation group were divided into the observation group and the eontrol group, eaeh with 40 ease. The patients in the observation group were given dexmedetomidine sedation. The patients in the eontrol group were not sedated. Compare the two groups of related effieaey indieators and adverse events. Results The heart rate of the observation group was (83.7±13.9) beats/min at T2, and the respiratory rate was (15.2±7.4) beats/min. The heart rate and respiratory rate were significantly lower than those of the control group (t=7.825, P〈0.05). The patients in the control group were significantly more likely to have mechanical ventilation (10 cases) than the observation group (3 cases), and the difference was statistically significant (t=6.889, P〈0.05). Conclusion Dexmedetomidine is effective in the treatment of respiratory failure in patients with non-invasive mechanical ventilation in ICU. Simultaneous dexmedetomidine sedation has the advantage of reducing the discomfort caused by agitation and ventilator.
