摘要
研究经济特区，首先要研究的就是它在全国经济体制改革中的独特作用。我们不应满足于仔细回顾和描述经济特区是如何实现体制改革、如何率先进行制度创新、如何在体制上先行一步为全国做出了示范等历史，而应该用经济学的一般理论，特别是制度经济学和转轨经济学的理论，对这一历史进行分析，从理论上把握历史、分析历史，从而为经济学理论的发展作出贡献，也为今后的体制改革提供一些具有普遍意义的规律性知识。
The first key issue to be studied in Special Economic Zone research is to study their unique roles in the process of national economic system reform. We cannot stand content merely to retrospect and describe the history how Special Economic Zone achieves system reform, how they take the lead in system innovation and how they make the first national demonstration. What we should do is to attempt to analyze the history with the general theory of economics especially the theory of Institutional Economics and Transition Econo-mics so as to deal with history in theory, thus it contributes to the development of economics theory and provides meaningful regular knowledge for henceforth system reforms.
