摘要
近年来,语言研究者对礼貌问题给予了极高的重视程度,尤其是在礼貌问题研究下的面子问题,受到了广泛的关注。20世纪50年代,西方社会学家Goffman提出了"面子"问题和"面子交往"概念。80年代,Brown&Levinson提出礼貌理论以及"礼貌—面子"交往观,这无疑对于日后面子问题的发展有着深远的影响[1]。但其中他们对消极面子的阐释中,不能准确解读东方人的面子问题,此后诸多学者认为西方人的面子概念无法引入到东方,尤其在汉语文化背景下,面子问题更加复杂,"礼貌—面子"这一框架已经存在明显不足,如何理解并阐释中国复杂的"面子观"成为了重要的研究方向。中国人面子的明示性表达分为两个大概念,即常见的面子表达为"面子"和"脸",但由于中国历史的长期发展及中华传统文化的影响,中国人的面子常常与人情、身份、文化背景等概念联系在一起。由此可以看出在汉语文化背景下,面子现象更具有复杂性,如何理解面子的次范畴概念的表达成为研究的重中之重。
In recent years, language researchers have paid a high degree of attention to politeness issues, especially in the face of politeness research, which has received extensive attention. In the 1950s, Western sociologist Goffman proposed the concept of “face” and the concept of “face interaction”. In the 1980s, Brown ＆ Levinson proposed the theory of politeness and the “courtesy-face” concept of communication, which undoubtedly had a profound impact on the development of the problem of the latter. However, in their interpretation of negative faces, they cannot accurately interpret the face of the Orientals. Since then, many scholars believe that the concept of face of Westerners cannot be introduced to the East. Especially in the context of Chinese culture, the issue of face is more complicated. The framework of “courtesy-face” has already had obvious shortcomings. How to understand and interpret China s complex “face view” has become an important research direction. The explicit expression of the Chinese face is divided into two big concepts, that is, the common face is expressed as “decency” and “face”, but due to the long-term development of Chinese history and the influence of Chinese traditional culture, the face of the Chinese is often related to human feelings, identity and cultural background. It can be seen that in the context of Chinese culture, the phenomenon of face is more complex. How to understand the expression of sub-category of face becomes the top priority of research.
