This paper investigated and identified the spatial distribution characteristics and profile migration of the main pollutants in typical industrial sites by taking a abandoned lead storage battery manufacturing site in Chengdu Plain as an example. The results showed that the main potential lead contamination sources in the site were form construction waste, soil and residual waste water. The potential pollution ways were from dust fall and Pb-containing waste water. Pb, Cd and As pollution were severe in construction waste. The content of Pb and Cd in surface water derived from temporary acid liquor storage pool and cleaning pool in the site badly exceeded the standards and the water quality was worse than grade Ⅴ. Cd and Cr pollution was serious in groundwater at the site and its surroundings. In the surface soil of the site, Pb and Cd pollution were rather serious, presenting non-point source feature. The content of Pb in the soil 1.2 m away from the recycled water pool and temporary acid liquor storage pool was much higher than that of in the surrounding area.
