摘要
曼德维尔的道德体系在《道德情操论》中遭到了斯密的严厉批判,但斯密的这一批判很难说是真正成功的,他的"同情"并没有与曼德维尔的"骄傲"真正拉开距离,他的道德学说仍然带来鲜明的曼德维尔的印记。但他们在社会的自然性还是人为性上存在着根本的分歧,在曼德维尔那里,道德的产生、人之社会化离不开"政治家"的努力,他致力于探询的是一系列驯化激情的政治技艺;而斯密的道德心理学则没有了"政治家"的位置,他试图揭示的是道德的自然生成机制,在斯密那里,社会成了自然的一部分。
Adam Smith's Criticizing severely on the moral system of Mandeville in The Theory of Moral Sentiments was not adequately successful,because his Sympathy was not greatly different from Mandeville's Pride,and his moral theory was with characteristics of Mandeville's. However,they were fundamentally different in artificiality or nature of society: Mandeville upheld that the origin of morality and the socialization of human beings could not be achieved without politician's efforts,and he endeavored to explore political skills in taming passions; but Smith left no space for politicians and tried to reveal the natural formulation system of morality,classifying society as part of nature.
