The dielectric test on traction transformer verifies whether its insulation level can meet relevant standardsand design documents,which is vital for the safe operation of traction transformer.The dielectric test includes suchthree items as the full-wave impulse voltage withstand test,the power frequency voltage withstands test and the in-duced voltage withstand test.The article discusses the basis and approaches to select test voltage,test frequency andtest duration,etc.in these three dielectric tests.It specifies the dielectric test methods and wiring diagrams,thusproviding a theoretical basis for the test personnel to design a test scheme and conduct the test properly.
