采用结晶器内部双线圈电磁搅拌系统连铸高碳钢和合金钢小方坯

摘要 文章介绍了西德贝克-道斯科(伊斯帕特)公司采用新颖的双线圈电磁搅拌系统(结晶器电磁搅拌)进行浇铸操作所取得的效果。该系统有两套感应线圈,一套安装在液面区,另一套安装在结晶器下部。因此,该系统被称为双线圈结晶器电磁搅拌系统。进行敞开浇铸时,该系统可以在液面区提供大强度搅拌,而在浸入式浇铸时,该系统的上部感应线圈的制动作用抑制了液面的搅动。这样,高碳钢和合金钢小方坯的凝固组织和中心碳偏析得到极大改善。拉速提高了25%~30%。因此,也提高了连铸机生产率。小方坯的质量改进进一步转化为5.5mm高碳钢线材的质量改进。 This paper presents the results of casting operations at Sidbec-Dosco (Ispat) with a novel Dual-Coil electromagnetic stirring system (M-EMS). The system incorporates the two sets of induction coils; one set arranged in the meniscus region and the other one in a lower portion of the mold. Thus the system is termed as a Dual-Coil M-EMS. The new stirring system provides controlled enhancement of stirring intensity at the meniscus for casting with an open stream, whereas the stirring in that region was suppressed by the braking action of the upper induction coils during casting with submerged pouring. As a result, impressive improvements in solidification structure and centerline carbon segregation in high-carbon and alloy steel billets were achieved. The caster productivity was also improved through a casting speed increase of 25 to 30 percent. The billet quality improvements were successfully translated into the quality improvement of 5.5 mm high-carbon wire rod.
