摘要
英国教育思想是西方教育思想的重要组成部分,从文艺复兴至20世纪下半叶经历了一个渐进式的演变过程,有的学者称之为"勉强的革命"。综观英国教育思想的发展轨迹,它既具有明显的西方特性,又保持了纯粹的"英国特色",呈现出宗教性、人文性、民族性、阶级性和继承性等特征。影响英国教育思想演进的动因是多元的,其中既有教育家个人的贡献,也与一些重大的历史事件和文化思潮有关。分析英国教育思想演进的特征及其动因,有利于我们加深对英国教育实践的理解和认识。
British educational ideas play an important part in Western educational ideas. From the Renaissance to the second half of the twentieth century it had gone through a gradual process of development, and some scholars called it a “reluctant revolution”. Reviewing the development track of British educational ideas, it has distinct Western characteristics and also maintains purely British characters as being religious, humane, national, and class, inheritance and so on. The factors that influence the evolution of British educational ideas are pluralistic, among them there were both the individual contributions of educators and some related major historical events and cultural trends of thought. Analysis of the characteristics and agent of the evolution of British educational ideas will help to deepen our understanding of educational practice in Britain.
