摘要
晚清民国时期,"红头阿三"的形象广泛流行画报之中。晚清时期,画报对印度巡捕的塑造与想象呈现出"执法者"与"犯法者"的双重面相。"五卅"运动爆发后,在反帝民族主义运动之中,"红头阿三"代表的印度巡捕这一群体的普遍化形象,广泛流行于漫画报刊之中,并被赋予了强烈的民族主义政治内涵。在革命阶级话语之下,它被塑造为"帮凶者"与"亡国奴"的政治形象,成为对大众进行革命动员的象征性的殖民人物,形构了民众的耻辱记忆。这一形象在上海商业文化环境的影响下被抽离了政治化的内涵,逐步渗入民众日常生活之中,日趋滑稽化,成为供大众娱乐与调侃的消费符码,同时这一过程又反过来促进了"红头阿三"形象的大众化传播。
