摘要
设计并实现了一款适用于广电混合光纤同轴电缆网络(HFC)的高增益单片集成光接收芯片,该芯片主要包括跨阻放大器(TIA)、衰减器(VVA)和输出放大器三部分。跨阻放大器采用差分结构,相较于单端TIA提高了噪声性能,衰减器采用相位相消方式实现信号衰减,输出放大器为芯片补足增益并实现阻抗匹配。使用ADS仿真软件进行电路设计、版图设计、仿真验证,采用GaAs 0.25μm E/D PHEMT工艺进行了流片。测试结果表明,芯片实现了42 d B的最大增益,在0-3 V控制电压下,0-28 dB的连续可调增益范围,工作频率为50 MHz-1 GHz,差分输入单端输出,输出负载为75Ω,芯片面积1 412μm×1 207μm,芯片性能符合设计目标。
A high gain monolithic integrated optical receiver chip applied to the hybrid-fiber-coax network( HFC) in broadcasting and TV was designed and fabricated. The optical receiver chip consists of three major parts: a trans-impedance amplifier( TIA),a voltage variable attenuator( VVA) and an output driver amplifier. The TIA with differential input structure can achieve a better noise performance compared to the single-ended TIA. The attenuation of the VVA was accomplished by phase cancellation.The output driver amplifier was used to complement the gain and match the impedance for the chip. The chip was designed based on GaAs 0. 25 μm E/D PHEMT technology,and the circuit and the layout were designed and simulated by ADS software. The measurement results show that the IC's operating frequency range is from 50 MHz to 1 GHz,and its maximum gain is 42 d B. The attenuator controlled by a variable voltage from 0 to 3 V has a continuous attenuation gain of 0-28 d B. The IC output is configured to the singled-ended topology with the output load of 75 Ω. The chip area is 1 412 μm × 1 207 μm,and its performances satisfy the design goals.
