The study aims to reveal and refine the general characteristics, internal mechanism and mechanism of urbanization of farmers, from the perspective of family. Through the field investigation and analysis of the phenomenon of peasant urbanization in ordinary agricultural villages in central China, the study found that, the main participating body of urbanization is the specific peasant families; The driving force and goal of urbanizing peasant families’ are to be the "new citizens" who can live decently in the city with dignity; And also found that the countryside is facing the problem of lacking resources in all aspects, but the main participating body of urbanization is experiencing a rapid process of non-elitism; So "non-elite" and "decent life" become a prominent paradox, however, non-elite farmer families are dissolving this set of paradox through "family development order", making a widespread participation in high quality urbanization for farmers from ordinary agricultural villages in Central China. The value of the study is that it revealed "family development order", its specific content is that "the mobility of young people, the support of middle-aged people and the self-support of the elderly". The study also points out that the system of the traditional family and the basic system of rural land re-sources are a major institutional guarantee for the forming of "family development order", the relatively abundant agricultural surplus in the Jianghan Plain is an important economic basis for the order.
