摘要
TCP/IP作为通用协议栈虽被广泛应用,却并不适用于某些特殊的网络环境,如高可用的动态集群系统、强实时性的嵌入式系统。提出将TIPC作为新的板卡间通信协议代替TCP/IP移植到热插拔的机箱式设备内部网络中,提高节点间通信的实时性,利用TIPC提供的逻辑地址透明、链路冗余与负载分担等服务设计高可用系统。根据板间通信环境的特点提出对TIPC的优化,设计具有TIPC特色的Nagle算法并植入其Link层中,提高短数据的吞吐量。实验结果表明,该设计可明显提高TIPC网络中短帧对网络带宽的利用情况。
Although TCP/IP is widely used, it is not suitable for some special environment, such as dynamic cluster system with high availability and embedded system with strong real-time performance. In this paper, Transparent Inter Process Communication protocol (TIPC) working as a new communication protocol instead of TCP/IP, is transplanted into internal network of chassis devices which support hot-plug. With the advantages of TIPC in real-time, communication efficiency can be improved. High availability system can also be easily designed by some special service it provides, such as transparent logical address, link redundancy and load sharing. The paper also puts forward optimization design of TIPC according to characteristics of inter board environment. Nagle algorithm with TIPC features is proposed and implanted into the Link layer to avoid short-frame occupying too much bandwidth when the network is not good. The experimental results show that it can significantly improve the utilization of bandwidth in TIPC network.
