Cooperative medical insurance, broadly speaking, is a social securiyt system with a wider compatibility and should include the traditional cooperative medical service, the introduced medical insurance, and the cooperative medical insurance from combination of the former two; while in a narrow sense, it refers only to the latter. For successfully practising the system of cooperative medical insurance, the key points may be; a common understanding of its necessity for economic development and social security: the principle of mutual aid and relief to those in need arid the principle of sharing the expenses: development, enhancement, and gradual perfection: good work in pilot project; backing from legislation.
