Art intervention in urban public space has become a new subject of urban regeneration. In 2017, the 2^nd Shanghai Urban Space Art Season (SUSAS) forged bold and successful experiments in this field. The curators adopted an international perspective with board horizon, and singled out installations from the globally renowned artists. Different from the past, the works selected for this project are no longer limited to the white cube of gallery space but to be placed in a large-scale former industrial building--the abandoned granaries at the Min Sheng Pier of Shanghai Pudong New District. This eighty-thousand-ton silo had finished its industrial mission. After sleeping for ten years, when the 50-meter high silos relit its lights, one felt the deposition of time and Art's great power to re-activate the city's dead ends.
