3 HRC。 Service life of hot-work die is dependent on its hardness, i.e., its wear resistance, whereas the wear resistance of the die is related to tempering resistance of the steel from which the die is. From the experimental investigation it was discovered that the tempering resistance of hot-work die steel may be improved by the addition of a moderate amount of alloying elements such as both molybdenum and tungsten. For example, after being quenched from 1 030 to 1 050 ℃ and then tempered at 650 ℃ for 24 h DM hot-work die steel containing 1.5% to 2.5% Mo and 1.5% to 2.5% W exhibited as high hardness as 33 HRC which is 7 HRC higher than that of H13 steel and 3 HRC higher than that of 3Cr2WSV steel.
