摘要
大学校长的教育质量观对实现大学的办学质量具有思想统领价值。从一定意义上讲,大学校长有什么样的教育质量观,就可能办出什么质量的大学。考察中国近代著名大学校长的教育质量观,其突出的特征是他们秉持系统的教育质量观。这种系统的教育质量观是由学校质量观、人才质量观、教师质量观、学生质量观、课程质量观、管理服务质量观、校园环境质量观所构成的有机整体,其中学校质量观和人才质量观是纲领,学生质量观是核心,教师质量观是关键,课程质量观是基础,管理服务质量观与校园环境质量观是保障。近代著名大学校长的教育质量观及其实践,对当下中国高校提升办学质量具有重要的历史借鉴价值。
Improving the quality of higher education is a strategic undertaking planned by the state, the intrinsic demand of universities, people's pressing desire, and is also a difficulty in the field of higher education which needs consistent eff orts to overcome. In the history of the development of higher education in modern China, there existed a number of famous universities, which enjoyed prestige for high quality of talent cultivation. It is generally believed that the success of universities in modern China has a close relationship with their presidents. Therefore, how does the famous universities' famous president in modern times realize the high quality of running a university? What are their ideologies of education quality of these famous universities? How do they practice their ideologies of education quality? The education quality ideologies and practice of these famous presidents of famous universities of modern times have practical significance to improve the quality of education in Chinese universities. These issues are worthy of our study.A university president's ideology of education quality plays an overriding ideological role in achieving education quality. In a sense, the level of the education quality depends on the level of the university presidents' ideologies of education quality. The ideologies of education quality of the presidents of the famous universities in modern China are characterized by the systematic education quality ideology. This ideology of systematic education quality is an organic whole, consisting of views of talent quality, teacher quality, student quality, course quality, management and service quality, and campus environment quality. Reviewing the history of famous presidents' governance of their universities, a distinct feature is that they had their systematic and explicit education quality ideas. In terms of these famous university presidents' ideologies, university quality and talent quality is the guiding principle; students' quality the core; teachers' quality the key;
