摘要
"To cure sometimes,to relieve often,to comfort always"被誉为特鲁多铭言,近年来被广泛地用于阐述医学人文精神。但目前还缺乏准确的中文翻译。深入分析了特鲁多铭言产生的背景。结合医学的特点,根据中英文表达的习惯,按照"信、达、雅"的翻译原则,将特鲁多铭言翻译为"有时,能治愈;常常,是缓解;总是,去安慰"。该翻译能够充分表达原文的字面含义,反映了医学临床中实际面临的问题,并充分体现了蕴含于其中的医学人文精神。
＂To cure sometimes,to relieve often,to comfort always＂,regarded as Trudeau＇s motto,is being widely used to state medical humanistic spirit.However,there is no accurate Chinese translation at present.This study investigated deeper background of origin of the motto.Combining with the characteristics of medicine,the feature of language and the translation principle of＂faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance＂,the author proposed a new Chinese translation version of this motto.Although the new translation could not fully expressed the English words＇ meaning of the motto,it could elaborate the real problems in the medical practice and appropriately show medical humanistic spirit behind the translation.
