《美国公共图书馆思想研究(1731—1951)》是我国第一部系统地研究美国公共图书馆思想史的学术专著,从纵向和横向两个方面绘就了美国公共图书馆思想的经纬地图,成为美国图书馆史研究的标志性著作,为我国当代公共图书馆的建设和发展提供了许多有益的借鉴和参考。
A Study of Public Library Thoughts in the United States of America, 1731-1951 is the first academic work which studies the history of public library thoughts in the United States systematically. It describes the development of public library thoughts in the United States in both vertical and horizontal aspects, and becomes the landmark work on the research of American library history. It provides many beneficial experiences and references for the development of public libraries in contemporary China.
