摘要
采用问卷调查以及访谈法,了解139名国内大学生对中国男女英语教师亲切性的感知,探讨英语教师亲切性的性别差异及原因。研究表明,男性英语教师上课更幽默风趣,提出的问题更能启示学生表达自己的观点,同时在授课中更常看着全班学生进行交流;女性英语教师更加注重征求学生对作业、上交时间和讨论话题的意见以及更多地向学生反馈作业情况。
This study is aimed at exploring the gender difference(s)in English teacher immediacy and causes of the difference by investigating 139 Chinese college students' perceptions of their English teachers' immediacy.The finding is that male English teachers are more humorous,ask more questions that solicit viewpoints or opinions and more often look at the class when talking;however,female English teachers more often ask how students feel about assignments,due dates or discussion topics and provide feedback.
