As one of the most influential educators in contemporary America,J.B.Conant stuck to the basic idea that education is a social process.For leading Harvard to move towards world-class universities,pointing out the direction of the medium education at the crossroads,giving new energy to the power-entwined teacher education,he was considered to be a reform planner.James B.Conant and the Educational Reform in Contemporary U.S.is the first integrated work on the educational thoughts and practices of Conant in China.The author had examined his reform claims and practice effects in various fields comprehensively,and analyzed the evolution of his educational thought and behavioral characteristics,and revealed the basic logic underpinning its educational reform in the book.
