摘要
王尔德的戏剧《不可儿戏》以及田纳西·威廉斯的戏剧《欲望号街车》反映的分别是十九世纪末的英国以及二十世纪初的美国转型时期的社会现实。以这两部作品所揭示的社会转型时期价值虚无和由此导致的个体道德困境为背景,通过作品中主要人物对唯美艺术价值的追求,探讨了超越社会价值虚无,实现个体道德拯救及精神回归的途径。
Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and Tennessee William's A Streetcar Desire respectively reflect the British social reality in the late nineteenth century and the U. S. social reality in the transitional period of the early twentieth century. Based on the background of nihilism of value and its resulting moral dilemma of individuals in the social transitional period revealed by the two novels,this paper analyzes the pursuit for aesthetic arts value of main characters in this two novels and discusses the means of transcending nihilism of social value and realizing moral salvation of individuals and spiritual return.
