摘要
汤亭亭的《女勇士》出版后,国内外学者针对这部作品进行了较为激烈的学术争论。笔者通过对《女勇士》的研究发现,作为中国文化代表之一的道元素对汤亭亭产生了深刻影响。拟从东方主义的理论内涵、道教对汤亭亭创作的影响、《女勇士》中的"道"文化探析等方面对其进行探讨,发现作品中失真的中国元素是文化融合过程中正常的"误读",不能因此断言汤亭亭迎合东方主义。在分析华裔文化新范本中肯定汤亭亭对打破西方文化垄断的文学界做出的积极贡献。
After publication, heated academic argument about The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston has been triggered. After the study on the work, it can be found that Taoism as one of the representatives of Chinese culture has posed deep impact on the author.The paper is to discuss aspects like orientalism, the influence of Taoism on the creation of the book and the cultural analysis of Taoism in The Woman Warrior. The distortion of Chinese elements is the normal misreading in the process of cultural fusion, so it cannot be allegedthat Kingston caters to orientalism. In the overseas Chinese literature, it should be praised for Kingston's positive contribution to break themonopoly of western culture in literary field.
