As a singer as well as a poet, Bob Dylan has become a cultural icon for 1960s' America. His personal experiences and poetic expressions reflect the core values of the American myth. His constant drift manifests the essential features of American history and American culture, and his literary quest, by way of allusions, appropriations and parodies, develops the literary traditions into a new form of imagination, successfully redefining literary canon and enlarging the scope and strength of poetic writing.
