Godzilla Films can be called Japan's "National IP".Since the release of the first edition in 1954,a total of 29 editions have been shot in 62 years, which can be rated as the epic monumental work among Japanese science fiction films. As a series,Godzilla Films present Japan's post-war "re-modernization" process as well as the continuous evolution of collective social consciousness of Japanese in this process, such as changes of the implication of technological landscape, evolution of life concept, generational changes of the South Seas complex and the transformation of the attitude toward Japan's Self-Defense Force, and the appearance of the monster on the screen reveals contemporary people's worries about modern urban life.
