Objective To observe the influence of recombinant human growth hormone on treatment of children with growth hormone deficiency( GHD) or idiopathic short stature( ISS). Methods From March 2013 to June 2016,47 cases of ISS children and 47 cases of GHD children were randomly selected from Enshi Central Hospital for recombinant human growth hormone therapy. The growth rate, body weight, height, height standard deviation score( Ht SDS),bone age and insulin-like growth factors-1( IGF-1) were compared before and after treatment between ISS group and GHD group. Results Compared with those before treatment, the growth rate,Ht SDS and IGF-1 of two groups were significantly higher, and there were significant differences( in ISS group t value was 19. 45,5. 28 and 23. 66,respectively,all P〈0. 05; in GHD group t value was 20. 29,5. 71 and 22. 77,respectively,all P〈0. 05). The body weight, height and bone age of two groups were higher after treatment than before treatment, but the differences were not statistically significant( in ISS group t value was 1. 86,1. 48 and 1. 87,respectively,all P〈0. 05; in GHD group t value was 1. 78,1. 43 and 1. 81,respectively,all P〈0. 05). During the course of treatment, there was no serious adverse reaction in both groups. Conclusion Recombinant human growth hormone has significant efficacy and safety for children with ISS or GHD.
