摘要
关于米芾族属,众说纷纭。有的据其自述称其为楚国芈姓贵胄后裔,有的研究者认为其为西域米国人后裔等,皆具矛盾之处。文章发掘久为人遗漏的材料,结合史传分析,认为其为奚族后裔。因米芾祖上声名不佳,加之宋世重文、重科举出身,而米芾祖上皆行伍出身,故米芾讳言家世,诡称别族。
