Based on the fundamental concept of underwater terrain matching aided navigation, the main problems and research progress on underwater terrain matching aided navigation are introduced in detail, including the aspects of terrain matching aided navigation algorithm, underwater digital map technology, test of underwater terrain matching navigation system, and so on.
