Mechanical properties of Al-based metal matrix composites reinforced by Al_(60)Cu_(20)Ti_(15)Zr_5 amorphous particles under high pressure and hot consolidation

摘要 采用六面顶压机制备出了60vol%铝基Al_(60)Cu_(20)Ti_(15)Zr_5非晶颗粒增强复合材料,研究了固结温度对块体样品微观形貌、致密度和力学性能影响规律。结果表明,压力可显著抑制Al_(60)Cu_(20)Ti_(15)Zr_5非晶的晶化,在高压固结过程中非晶态结构得到保持;温度对固结后所得块体样品微观形貌有明显的影响,随着温度的提高,粉末颗粒结合越来越紧密固结效果好;变形过程中样品表现出一定的室温压缩塑性,同时表现出明显的应变软化现象。 An Al-based metal matrix composite( MMCs) composed of 60vol% pure Al powders and 40vol% of ball milled Al60Cu20Ti15Zr5 amorphous powder was consolidated at different temperatures under 5 GPa pressure. Microstructures and mechanical properties of the MMCs were evaluated by room temperature compression tests. The results show that the consolidating temperature has a significant influence on the consolidation quality of the composites,and the high pressure can suppress the crystallization of the amorphous particles during the consolidation. The density is 98. 5% for the composites containing 60vol% Al consolidated at 390 ℃. Moreover,the composite exhibits the high ultimate strength and displays a good plasticity at room temperature.
