Objective To study the relatioinship between depression score and levels of serum BDNF, MIF, and neuropeptide Y (NPY) during postburn rehabilitation period in elderly patients. Methods From February 2015 to August 2016, 56 cases elderly patients with burn treated in our hospital after rehabilitation were selected as the observation group, and during the same period, 56 cases of healthy old people as control group. We compared two groups of serum BDNF, MIF, NPY levels and depression degree and did the correlation analysis. Results The observation group′s serum BDNF level was significantly lower than that of the control group.MIF, NPY levels were significantly higher than those of the control group. With depression aggravated gradually, the serum BDNF levels decreased gradually, and MIF, NPY levels increased gradually. The differences were significant (P〈0.05).Through the correlation analysis, patients depression score and serum BDNF was significantly negative correlated (R=-0.452, P=0.004), and depression score and MIF, NPY was positively related (R=0.563, P=0.000;R=0.587, P=0.000).Conclusion There was a significant negative correlation between depression score and serum BDNF, a significant positive correlation between depression score and MIF, NPY in the elderly patients with post burn rehabilitation. The above three indexes can be used as the diagnosis and clinical indicators of the degree of depression.
