摘要
卢梭既反对启蒙又支持启蒙的立场来自于他身份的双重性及与此相应的双重修辞。他宣称科学与德性不相容,是站在常人的立场上奉劝常人远离科学或哲学,以保护常人的德性免受科学知识或知识的虚假形态之侵害,而其最根本的理由乃是为了防止启蒙对哲学本身的败坏。科学与德性实则并非不相容,而是少数极具智识的人才具有将之结合起来的能力,只有他们才能用真正的知识去启迪人民的德性。《论科学与文艺》已经包含了卢梭思想的关键要素,其中最为关键的即是卢梭政治与哲学的双重立场,这种双重立场是理解卢梭整体学说的基础和门径。
Rousseau＇ s standpoints of anti-and pro-Enlightenment originate from the duality of his identity and the corresponding dual rhetoric. He claims that science and virtue are mutually incompatible and urge on common people from their own stands to stay away from science or philosophy in order to protect their virtues against the infringement of science knowledge or its false forms. His fundamental excuse is to prevent Enlightenment from corrupting philosophy itself. Science and virtue are in fact not incompatible, and only few with high intelligence have the ability to combine them together, who can use genuine knowledge to ple. Discourse on the Sciences and Arts encompasses the key elements of Rousseau＇ s enlighten the virtues of peothought, of which the most critical is dual stances of Rousseau＇ s politics and philosophy that serve as a foundation and an access to understanding Rousseau＇ s general theories.
